be still and listen

Hello crafty friends. I’m late posting today – I’ve been busy working on samples for my Clarity shows next Friday (25th), but grabbed a few minutes, the ‘be still and listen‘ aperture die and a piece of Waimea Falls designer paper to make this pretty card.

I’ve again managed to combine a few challenges for this one – Love Those Pretty Papers have got an optional twist of spring, Addicted to Stamps are looking for diecuts and I’ve got birds & blooms for Triple B

My first step was to cut a piece of the Waimea Falls paper to fit on a 5×7 card blank. I backed it with a piece of Stick It thin double sided adhesive sheet and cut out the centre rectangle with a nested die. I then recut that piece using the ‘be still’ aperture die. I wanted to layer up the die cut to give it more depth, so cut a slightly smaller mat from white card, backed it with the Stick It adhesive and recut the die into it. I could then layer up the two pieces, before adding a backing piece of white card that I’d cut slightly larger thank the die cut one so it gave me a border.

I then simply attached the frame to the 5×7 card blank and glued the die cut layered topper into the centre.

I haven’t really played with my Clarity dies for some time, but this weekend’s Easter sale on their website prompted me to get them out – there’s a whole selection of dies available for just £3 each. Happy Easter indeed!
