green landscape

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday’s blog! I’ve gone all green today with Clarity’s woodland treescape stamps and mask set for this gentle landscapethanks to the monochrome (one colour) theme at Inspire.Create. I’ve also taken the ‘you’ theme from Just Us Girls with the sentiment for a card of sympathy.

Taking one of my favourite 3.5″ square of stencil card, I laid the woodland 4×4 mask set onto it and lifted the ground areas one at a time brushing ‘elegant emerald’ Artistry ink (from my sister’s stash!) across them and using a sponge with ‘aged stucco’ to create the shadows and depth. I wanted a full moon in the sky, so removed the rest of the masks from the set, laid down the middle one of Clarity’s moon masks and brushed ‘dry weed’ Artistry ink across the top area of the card.

I stamped the tree with black Versafine Clair ink, then added the trees using one of the small texture stamps from the set and the ‘elegant emerald’ ink, alternating first and second generation stamping.

The sentiment comes from the ‘highlands’ stamp set in the collection, and then I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges. I went with my favourite square embedders to emboss a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank before finally attaching the topper.

I’m just back from spending a lovely couple of days with my sister – we both craft, so have had fun being in the same room together (we’re usually catching up over Zoom!) And if you want to learn more about how to use these fab landscape masks and get the most out of them, Barbara Gray has just launched an online course of three sessions which she’ll be running in June – more details are available here It’s great value at £60 – my sister and I are both signed up for it!
