Z for Zoom at Alphabet Challenge

Hello friends and welcome to Friday! I’ve got a couple of cards to share with you today – this first one is for our new theme at Alphabet Challenge. We’re completing another round of the alphabet having reached Z and Melanie has given us ‘zoom’ – we want to see anything that goes fast on your cards and creations. I immediately thought of the just wheels & wings set from Clarity Crafts, which has the perfect sentiment as well as a few ideal images! I opted for the motorbike, which works beautifully for the ‘masculine’ theme at Addicted to CAS and my two sentiments pick up the challenge at Inkspirational. Additionally, Time Out are looking for our favourite movies – I saw the latest Top Gun Maverick movie with friends last year and recently watched it again on TV. I know it’s mainly about fighter planes, but there are some iconic shots of Tom Cruise riding his motorbike.

Taking one of Clarity’s 3.5″ squares of stencil card, I stamped the motorbike then brushed ‘saltwater taffy’ & ‘carved pumpkin’ Distress Oxides through the largest of Clarity’s moon masks for my setting sun. I ran low tack tape across the base of the bike and the base of the card before stamping the ‘grunge texture‘ (#187 from Clarity’s Craft Club) with ‘watering can’ Archival to create the road. I used black and silver Polychromo pencils to shade in the motorbike, then stamped a couple of the sentiments from the set in black Archival ink.

I enbossed a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank using a square embedder, then popped a mount of orange Waimea Falls companion paper behind the topper and attached it to the card.

Do come on over to the Alphabet gallery and share your speedy images with us – we’re looking forward to seeing how you interpret our Z for Zoom theme.

  1. Love the simplicity. I am a fan of anything motorbike – hubby still rides – has recently done Route 66, rode around Italy and Switzerland last year, and this year is doing Croatia……I’ll be home crafting…..! 🙂
