Welcome to my second post today, this time with our fab new colours from As You See It challenge put together by Jan. This is a perfect palette for spring, I thought, so reached for Clarity’s ‘spring build a wreath‘ stamps after using the winter set on yesterday’s Christmas card.

I’ve pulled a couple of other challenges into this one as well, taking the layout from Atlantic Hearts, the spring theme from The Four Seasons challenge and the Easter theme from Double D

I cut a piece of card to A6 size and drew a pencil oval onto it, using one of Clarity’s embedders. I could then stamp a few of the leafy sprays from the set around the outline using ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide – I did the little twiggy ones straight from the ink pad, then added the leafy spray in second generation, stamping it off on copy paper first. Next was to build my floral groups using ‘carved pumpkin’, ‘kitsch flamingo’ & ‘villainous potion’ and do my best to stamp them randomly!

I added the sentiment from the Easter egg A5 stamp set (you can get the stamps as a single set, but they’re also in the cut card kit) and drew the crosses onto it with a micron pen (I now wish I’d made them a little larger…) A mount of green card and it went onto a 5×7 card blank.

I’m well into my Easter card production now, so that’s another one in the bag!

Villainous Potion! Wow, what a name! Love this card – the bright, fresh feel of it is great. The little clusters of stamped flowers are so pretty and the open background lets them shine.

Deborah, I am so impressed with your ability to pull several design challenges together to create this card! It’s really neat that you were able to use the wreath builder to create the egg shape and floral clusters.

Deborah, I love how delicate the greenery and florals are on this stamp. It looks like spring greenery! And I just noticed that the wreath was egg-shaped, too! Brilliant!

Beautiful card. The generational stamping was a fabulous choice. It really adds interest and dimension to the wreath. The clumps of flowers are so pretty, great color picks. I love that you started with an egg shape – so perfect for Easter. Thanks for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This wreath is so pretty Deborah. You’ve managed to create a lovely open, airy feel to your wreath and really tone down these strong colours – perfect for spring. I love the sentiment detail too.
