Easter egg cut card kit

Hello crafty friends! I thought I’d share the Easter egg card I just demonstrated on the 10am show on Clarity Social TV – I’m really taken with these Cut Card Kits from Clarity Crafts and they’re perfect for this time of year! Amazing value too with all the 20 die cuts in the pack plus two stamp sets!

I took one of the larger egg card blanks and stamped the patterned egg onto both sides (front & back of the card) in black Archival ink. As I showed in my demo, I found the easiest way to to line the stamp up is to lay it on the card first, then pick it up on one of Clarity’s 5×5 mega mounts, lining up the bottom edge of the mount with the base of the card. That way you can go straight back down after inking the stamp without having to try to spot the edge of the die cut egg!  I then simply coloured in the design with Pergaliner pencils – I love all the detail of the flowers, including two small bumblebees! !

I used one of the precut masks that come in the set to cover the patterned egg and brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Ink around the edges and across the base.  I could then also stamp onto the base with the sentiment and some flowers.  Having decided to add the little bow from the small egg stamp set, I stamped it onto a piece of scrap card, coloured again with the Pergaliners and then fussy cut it, so I could glue it in place.

The lovely things about these cards is being able to decorate the back to match as well – I didn’t add the sentiment this time but did include the little bee from the set!

I gave this one away on the show but there are plenty more blanks (and envelopes) in the set so I’m not short of supplies!  There are a few Easter & Spring themed challenges coming around now, so I’m going to share this one over at Cardz4Gals and Inspire.Create

And finally, please do excuse any layout issues on this little post – I left my laptop at home so am typing this up on my phone!

  1. That is a wonderful kit Deb. If it wasn’t for the exchange rates and the possibility of duties, I would buy it myself. Love what you have created – it is truly beautiful.
