Happy Easter egg

Hello crafty friends! Well, having shared a Christmas card with you yesterday, I’m now skipping over to Easter, which is only just around the corner! I’ll be back on Clarity Social TV at 10am & 2pm UK time tomorrow (Friday 28th), sharing some fab Easter bunnies & eggs & a couple more of the Word Framer stamp series. I thought I’d tempt you in today with a quick look at the Easter Egg cut card kit collection, but for today I’ve just used the small stamp set (there’s be more inspiration to share with you tomorrow…!)

Green & yellow always work well for Easter & spring cards so this little offering is making an appearance in the galleries for AAA Colourful and CAS on Friday

But let’s talk about my process for this one first. I worked on a 5×5 card blank and started by embossing an oval frame for my egg using an embedder (I love that these are available in various shapes and sizes!) I could then stamp the solid egg background inside the frame using ‘squeezed lemonade’ Distress Ink. I wanted to add the little bow from the set – after stamping it in black Archival, I cut a mask for it from Clarity’s blank material and then stamped the patterned infill over it using ‘library green’ Archival ink.

Having taken the mask off the bow, I shaded it with yellow Pergaliner pencils before finishing with the little sentiment from the stamp set, again in ‘library green’.

I’m not a big one for using yellow as a main colour on my cards, but the green pattern does work well against it. Join me on Clarity Social TV tomorrow to see what’s in the rest of these fabulous packs!

  1. I have to say I agree with you about the yellow – but then I use it as a focal colour and wonder why I don’t do more like that, it’s so pretty. Your easter egg card is really lovely, and the colours are just perfect for this card – that’s awesome using the stencil mask to create the oval impression, I’ll have to try that technique! Thanks for joining us for this month’s colour challenge.Anne S, AAA Colourful
