Gud will

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Christmas card! I’ve travelled quite a distance from Japan for this one, landing up in the Nordic region with Clarity’s ‘feel gud gnomes & billboard‘ stamp set (do I need to translate the Gnomish…?!) I love these little chaps – brilliant for Christmas cards with a bit of a twist and perfect for the inspiration board at Peace on Earth & the ‘any occasion’ theme at Addicted to Stamps & More.

Now you know I love an embedder on my cards and I went double on this one to create the raised frame. I took a 6×6 card blank and used the inside edge of one of the nested square embedders (taping the embedder on the front of the card & embossing it from the inside) to make the raised area. I then switched to a slightly smaller solid square embedder, sitting it within the raised area, repeated the embossing but this time against the outer edge, which psuhed the card back down to give me the lovely frame – and no additional layers needed!

I stamped the gnome billboard into the centre of the frame, covered it with the pre-cut mask from the set and added the Christmas tree from ‘Linda’s Home for Christmas‘ stamp set. As you can see, the tree didn’t reach down to the ground and looks a bit like it’s levitating, so I cut a mask for it from Clarity’s blank material, then restamped it lining up the side and putting it level with the base of the billboard. It’s actually only a bit of the lower tree that shows, but I think it makes a real difference.

I left all the masks in place so that I could brush ‘broken china’ & ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxides into the background, then shaded in the gnomes with Pergaliner pencils.

All it then needed was a sentiment in the billboard – a little ‘goodwill’ in Gnomish!

I do enjoy digging back into Clarity’s product catalogue, and I’ll be back tomorrow with some more goodies that I’ll be showcasing on Clarity Social TV on Friday’s 10am & 2pm shows – stand by!
