just to say…

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got another of my design team samples with the new Clarity Crafts ‘Japanese floral tiles’ stamps to share with you today, this time just using the smaller stamps from the bottom of the set. These little stamps are the same three-way overlay process as the larger tiles, but I opted not to use the background stamp to build my blue wreath.

Staring with one pf Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, I stamped the outline sentiment into the centre, then drew myself a pencil guideline around the inside of one of the nested circle embedders. I masked off across the top of the sentiment with low tack tape and used the outlines of both stamps to then build the top of the wreath (Clarity’s circle stamp pens are perfect for these little images). I then repositioned the tape in line with the bottom of the sentiment and added the flowers around the bottom of the circle.

Switching to the two infill stamps, I coloured the flowers with ‘blueprint sketch’ and ‘salty ocean’. If you look closely, you can see that each little flower has a dot next to it – that’s on all these little stamps which means that you can line them up with each other (although I didn’t do the best job on this card!)

I was talking about the meaning of Japanese colours yesterday – blue is another popular ‘lucky’ one and symbolises coolness, passivity and fidelity (so now you know!)
