oriental flowers

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got another card to share with you today using the new ‘Japanese flowers & butterflies sampler‘ stamp set from Clarity Crafts, with a mixture of the little flower stamps & leaves. I’ve gone for vibrant colours on this one, picking up the layout from Atlantic Hearts and the birthday themes from Addicted to Stamps & Seize the Birthday, with STB’s extra topping of something that flies.

I cut a piece of card to fit on an A6 blank and scattered several of the small flowers over it – I took one from each group in the sampler set, using ‘carved pumpkin’, ‘picked raspberry’ & ‘wilted violet’ Distress Oxides. I then filled in all the gaps with one of the leaf stamps and ‘mowed lawn’ – the trick with this is to not be afraid to stamp the leaves over the flower images.

I stamped the butterfly from the ‘peace’ set in the sampler onto scrap card, again in ‘mowed lawn’ and fussy cut them. After colouring their bodies with a micron pen, I glued them over the flowers and stamped the sentiment from the ‘just butterflies & bees‘ set, adding the three little dots in green below it. A mount of Toscana companion paper matched beautifully before it went onto the A6 card blank.

I love the vibrant colours all mixed together on this card. I’m now going to spend the evening with my feet up, having spent the day looking after my 10 week old grandson, who has drained his feeds, filled his nappies & generally kept me busy! He is a cutie, though…
