watercolour plant pots

Hello friends and welcome to Thursday’s peek at new stamps landing tomorrow from Clarity Crafts! Barbara will be on Clarity Social TV with a fab new little set of ‘plant pots’ stamps – just perfect for all sorts of occasions! I haven’t used a watercolour background for a while, but got inspired by the theme at CAS on Friday plus the new photo at Just Add Ink (and I’ll add the link to the stamp set once it’s live on Clarity’s website)

I have to confess that I made this background piece over a year ago, dividing a piece of watercolour paper into four and only using one of the sections – this has been sat in my stash since then (along with the other two), so I’m also going to share this with Neglected Stuff challenge!

If you click on the link for my kingfisher watercolour card, you’ll find the details of my process for making the background piece. Having chopped the edges down, I simply stamped three of the plant pots using black Archival ink.

I wanted to make further use of the watercolour paper properties with the infill stamps, so spritzed each of them with water before stamping, which got the ink to bleed out a little. I used ‘walnut stain’ Distress Oxide for the pots, followed by ‘rustic wilderness’, ‘mowed lawn’ & ‘lucky clover’ for the plants.

Having added one of the ‘bijou retro sentiments‘ in black Archival ink, I simply mounted the watercolour topper on a layer of black card and added it to the front of an A6 blank that I’d made from cream card.

So Barbara’s on air at 10am UK time tomorrow (Friday 14th) with more inspiration for these fab little stamps , and I’ll have another creation to share with you as well.
