Clarity Craft Club – coriander leaves stencil

Hello friends. Another late post today – we’ve had a fab Sunday family day out with the grandson, who’s now 7 weeks old! Anyway, having shared the February stamp from Clarity‘s Craft club with you yesterday, I’ve got this month’s stencil today, which is a lovely coriander leaves design. I’ve followed the technique by my Clarity buddy Jane Telford on the project sheet that comes each month, although switched it up a bit using the colours at Color Dare – I went with pink for my additional shade, which also picks up the optional twist at Stencil Fun.

I started by attaching the stencil to a piece of white card and brushed ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide through it. Following Jane’s inspiration, I flipped the stencil over and then brushed ‘walnut stain’ across it.

After removing the stencil, I ran masking tape around the edges of the card, then brushed ‘picked raspberry’ across the whole piece – I must admit, I’m rather taken with the combination of brown & pink! I also used a square nested die to cut the card down so that it would fit on a 6×6 card blank.

I doodled a deckled edge around the stencilled area with a micron pen, then added a mount of Clarity’s dark buff paper before attaching it to the card blank. I found a suitable word sticker in the Pinky Gray pack, mounted that on the dark buff paper plus a layer of white card and simply added it to the card.

And that wraps up another weekend!

  1. Did you know you actually posted this in time for ‘I hate coriander day’? I heard it on the radio on 24th and when I saw your card it made me chuckle – serendipity, for sure!
