W for wings at Alphabet Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to the first of today’s cards (there’s another one coming later). Our new theme at Alphabet Challenge is W for Wings and I didn’t need to think too hard to decide to play again with Clarity’s landscape masks, but this time used a couple of the co-ordinating stamp sets.

I’ve also incorporated the layout from Freshly Made Sketches, which I rotated (it may be a bit subtle, but the curve from the tops of the trees reflects arc in the sketch) and the colours from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I’ve got a whole box of scraps of white card and started with one of those – a rectangle which I cut across into a 7.5cm square (approx 3 inches).

I laid the lower strips from the ‘meadow’ masks onto the card and first blended ‘twisted citron’ Distress Oxide across the ground. I switched to put that mask strip back into place, removed the others & put the moon mask in place, then blended ‘peacock feathers’across the sky.

I replaced the sky mask so I could remove the moon one (the easiest way to line this up is to put the sky mask down first, aligning it with the moon mask, then lift the moon off). I lightly sponged ‘ripe persimmon’ into the moon

area – I think it looks like a summer evening sun. I then stamped the two trees from the ‘meadow treescape’ with black Archival, adding the eagle from the ‘savannah’ set and the little flock of birds from the ‘woodland’ one.

I simply added a mount of Indian Summer companion paper and the sentiment from the ‘woodlan’ set, then attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank.

As I said yesterday, Barbara is on Clarity Social TV today at 10am & 2pm, with some new additions to this collection – and you know I love a bit of masking, so happy days!
