floral delights – thinking of you

Hello everyone. I’ve got a bit of a poignant card to share today, that’s gone to my vicar whose father passed away earlier this week. I opted to use Clarity‘s ‘floral delights – thinking of you’ stamp set for this one, inspired by the sketch at TGIF Challenges and the tones from Color Dare, with just some simple pencil colouring.

So, nothing too complicated for this one! I started with a small square of Clarity’s stencil card and stamped the main image from the set onto it using black Archival ink. I took three Pergaliner pencils in navy, red & orange and shaded in the floral decorations on the frame – if you loook closely, they’re more of an autumnal style but I think they work well for this occasion.

Now I mentioned above that Chris, who this card is for, is my vicar, but his father was also ordained so I had to add a cross into the scene – enter a micron pen and a ruler! I then stamped the sentiment into the frame and added a navy mount. You won’t be surprised to see that I used one of Clarity’s square embedders to emboss a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank before attaching the topper!

These ‘floral delights’ frames are such lovely images that they really don’t need complicated layouts adding to them!
