Love at Sparkles Challenge

Hello crafty friends. Today’s card is my DT offering for the new theme of ‘love’ at Sparkles Challenges and I opted to go with Clarity Crafts‘ ‘love heart doodle‘ stamps for a more funky take on the theme (partly inspired by a card one of my Clarity design team-mates did when these were first launched).

Once again, I’ve tied a few challenges into this little creation, starting with the layout from Atlantic Hearts, which I rotated 90 degrees onto it’s side, and the ‘love’ theme is also from Make My Monday. Finally, the focal sentiment works for Word Power

First was to stamp the sentiment in the centre of a small square of stencil card – I went with the outline first in black Archival ink, then added the infill using ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxide. I could then mask the letters off (the pre-cut masks come with the stamps) and use the small hearts from the set to fill in the lower part of the card – I used ‘picked raspberry’, ‘squeezed lemonade’ & ‘mowed lawn’ with the solid heart, then black Archival ink for the patterned hearts.

And that was basically it! I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and simply attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank.

The little hearts in this set make a really fun design, especially in these bright colours! Come and share your cards for the people you love with us at Sparkles Challenge.
