Hello again. I’m back with a second post looking at another of Janice Phillips’ new Timestamp Creations stamp sets produced by Clarity Crafts and a rather different style to this morning’s offering thanks to our new recipe challenge at As You See It. If you’ve not seen one of our recipes before, we give you five elements which all need to be included on your card. I’ve used Janice’s ‘be kind – be patient’ stamps on this one – read on for all the details…

I started with the pastel colours from our recipe, blending ‘bundled sage’, ‘spun sugar’ and ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxides onto one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card. I stamped the birds & grasses image onto the card with ‘weathered wood’ Distress Oxide and heat embossed it with clear powder, which I find always brings the ink colour out. When inking up the stamp, I swiped the pad across it, rather than tapping, which gave the birds a bit of an additional texture effect.

I don’t use ribbon very often on my cards so this part of the recipe was a bit of a challenge, but I solved it by running narrow white ribbon diagonally across the top left and bottim right corners. I added a mount that I’d cut from Antarctica companion paper with the ‘lattice’ doodle frame-it panel die and attached it to a 5×5 card blank. The final step was to add a celebratory sentiment from the ‘essential sentiments’ set with ‘watering can’ Archival ink.

Janice & Barbara are back on air at 2pm, but that video and this morning’s are available to watch on catch-up on Clarity’s YouTube channel. And then come and play along with our recipe at As You See It – just make sure you include all the elements on your card and we’ll be delighted to see you in our gallery.

hmmm. seems to be an issue with this comment space. Let’s try again, shall we?
Your ingredients are so perfectly subtle I had to go searching for them – you clever girl! I adore that teensy bit of ribbon and this gorgeous image, Deborah!

You always have such pretty frames for your cards. I love that oh so subtle sky behind the foliage. Nice use of the ribbon too – I seldom use it so it was a challenge for me too!

I love the subtlety of your creations, Deborah! I just goes to show how the same 5 elements can be combined in a card in thousands of different ways, and they don’t have to be front and center all the time either. Very pretty and peaceful!

You are making some fab cards with these images Deborah – and this one is no exception! I love the subtle blended sky and the detail of the frame – and as for the ribbon – a genius feature on a CAS card!
