Hello there and welcome to another of the cards that I demo’d on Friday’s Clarity Social TV with the ‘buttercup doodles‘ stamp set. As we’ve all been in a bit of a wreath building mood recently with the new ‘build-a-wreath’ stamp, I thought I’d continue the flow and use these for one as well! I’m going to share this little offering with CAS on Friday, as their current theme is ‘flowers’.

The key thing about this card is lining up and building the wreath (as if…!) I first drew pnecil gridlines on a piece of 3.5inch stencil card, to mark the centre. I could then stamp one of the circular sentiments into place with black Archival ink. Next was to add the leafy spray – I drew round a nested circle embedder to help me line it up and then stamped it four times, aiming the sten and the top of the leaves onto my guidline. Finally, I could add the little trio of flowers, stamping between each of the leafy sprays and one more for luck in the centre!

It was then a simple matter to colour in the images with Pergaliner pencils – for once, I chose my piece of backing paper (this one is from Amazonia) and then selected pencils to match the tones. Much easier than spending half an hour trying to find a match once you’ve coloured it…!

Once mounted on the deigner paper, the topper sat neatly on a 5×5 card blank

As with my other ones, I did a couple of additional toppers in differing colourways based on the designer paper mount. Depending on the colour, these work for cards in any season.
