landscape crescent moon

Hello friends. Sunday again and we’re nearly at the end of January already! Ah well, that does mean spring is inching closer. I’ve got another of my demos to share with you, this time from Friday’s 2pm show on Clarity Social TV. I put the ‘leafy crescent moon‘ stamp set into action for this one, teaming it up with the ‘woodland miniature‘ stamps inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest ages ago (and now can’t find…!)  I’m sharing it with Inspire.Create who’ve got ‘clean & simple’ for their new theme, which you all know is my favourite type of card!

The moon stamp fits perfectly onto a 3.5inch square of Clarity’s stencil card – I sponged ‘wilted violet’, ‘chipped sapphire’ & a little ‘black soot’ Distress Oxides onto it to get a bit of an ombre blend, then simply stamped it into place.

I needed to mask off the moon to stamp the trees into place, so pleated some low tack tape to fit sround it (when I did this subsequently, I decided to snip into the lower edge of the tape – like a cake frill- which did make the tape align more easily). I took two of the ‘woodland miniatures’ individual trees and stamped them along the crescent using first and second generation of the ‘wilted violet’ & ‘chipped sapphire’. I also used the top of the taller tree to add the effect of bushes along the ground.

I added in the little crescent moon stamp (Clarity’s new stamp pens are perfect for little images like this) followed by a mount cut from Indian Summer companion paper with the ‘lattice’ doodle frame-it panel dies and then attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

I had a bit more of a play and made a couple of other toppers in different colour ways – the green one used ‘bundled sage’ & ‘rustic wilderness’ and the blue one is with ‘mermaid lagoon’ & ‘blueprint sketch’. Do you have a favourite?
