buttercup doodles birthday

Hello friends. I’ve had a busy afternoon prepping for tomorrow when I’m on Clarity Social TV showcasing these fab little stamps from Clarity Crafts (amongst others). This card uses a couple of the ‘buttercup doodles’ stamps on a CAS birthday card, inspired by the layout at Atlantic Hearts and the palette from Creative Colour Challenges.

So, here’s a quick run down on my process. I started with one of Clarity’s 3.5inch squares of stencil card and stamped the circle sentiment & flowers in black Archival ink. I covered them with a circular moon mask, then created a panel by running low tack tape across the card. I lightly brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the panel before overlaying the ‘stripes’ stencil and brushing more of the ink outwards from the mask.

The flower got a quick touch of colour with yellow & green Pergaliner pencils, then I simply edged the topper with a black Sharpie, added a 4inch square mount of Rainbow River companion paper and popped the whole thing on a 5×5 card blank.

We actually got a few hours of blue sky very like this shade this afternoon, before Storm Eowyn hits tomorrow (although we will escape the worst here in South East England). I’d suggest the best thing tomorrow is to stay indoors and craft – and join me at Clarity at 10am & 2pm!
