winter treescape

Hello crafty friends. I’ve gone for an old favourite image today that I haven’t used in ages – Clarity Crafts‘ ‘treescape‘ stamps. Although they’re a three-way overlay set, I’ve just used one of the stamps on this set, picking up the winter themes from AAA Birthday and Four Seasons, – the background works as well for Love Those Pretty Papers challenge too!

I first cut a mat from the Shenandoah designer card using one of the ‘film strip‘ nested square doodle frame-it panel dies. I then took the middle of the tree treescape stamps, inking it up with Versamark clear ink and heat embossing it with WOW’s bright white powder.

I masked off the egdes of the image with low tack tape, then sponged ‘black soot’ Distress Ink across a bit of torn copy paper to add ground to each of the trees (the ink just wipes off the embossed image).  I embossed a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder, attached the topper to sit within it and finished with one of the KISS word stickers.

These trees feel very wintery! Thankfully the weather is a bit warmer here now (although really it’s just less cold!), but there have been some lovely frosty trees over in the local park over the last 10 days.

  1. A beautiful card, the background sets off those white frosty trees perfectly! It’s a cold 8 degrees here this morning! Thanks for joining our challenge at The Four Seasons!
