Hello there and welcome to our first CAS Colours & Sketches challenge of 2025! Rachel is at the helm and she’s given us this lovely palette, which I thought would be just perfect for the new autumn ‘build-a-wreath’ stamps from ClarityCrafts.
This time round, though, I’ve created a little scene rather than a wreath and I’m going to share it with AAA Cards as well, although I didn’t take their optional twist of ‘flies in the air’.

I took a piece of Clarity’s 3.5inch square stencil card and stamped the toadstools – I put ‘carved pumpkin’ Distress Oxide on the cap and ‘walnut stain’ on the stalk just by using the edge of the inkpads rather than the centre. Having got those in place, I stamped several of the leaves in ‘peeled paint’, ‘carved pumpkin’ & ‘walnut stain’, mainly in second generation rather than direct from the inkpad and placing them upright so they look like plants. I took one of the masks from the ‘highlands treescape‘, laid it over the images and lightly sponged ‘peeled paint’ Distress Ink across it for the ground.

You won’t be surprised to see that I used a square embedder to emboss a frame onto the front of a 5×5 card blank, then added a mount of Toscana companion paper to the topper before attaching it to the card front. the final touch was the sentiment from the ‘woodland treescape‘ stamps in ‘fern green’ Archival ink – and it was done!

Now these colours don’t have to be autumnal, so come on over to CAS Colours & Sketches and show us how you’ve used them!
