leafy birthday wreath

Hello friends. I’m back to share another creation with you using the new seasonal ‘build-a-wreath‘ stamps from ClarityCrafts and today’s card uses the ‘autumn‘ set. These are fab collections with 35 little stamps in each set – just perfect for building lots of designs, not just wreaths. Having said that, I have got another wreath for you today, but there’s more variation to come during the week… I’ve taken the tones from AAA Colourful for a bit of a different look on this one too.

I started with a piece of Clarity’s ‘theuva‘ card, which is a smooth version, cut a piece to fit an A6 card blank and drew a curve off to the side using a nested circle embedder as my template. I took the two maple leaves in the set and stamped them around the curve, using ‘saltwater taffy’ and ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxides and alternating them. I then used one of the little leafy sprays and stamped it with ‘antique linen’ between each of the leaves, but putting it at right angles to the circle, rather than following the line. Next was to add the inner circle of leaves, again with the ‘antique linen’ – I stamped the first one of these against the centre of the curve and then worked outwards in both directions.

I found a co-ordinating piece of companion paper in the Indian Summer pack for the mount, then attached the topper to the A6 card blank. The final step was to add a sentiment from the ‘floral delights – happy birthday‘ set, again in the ‘antique linen’.

I said it the other day, but I think I’ll be playing with these stamps for some time to come!
