Craft Club Christmas heart

Hello friends. I’ve made a resolution for 2025 to use my Clarity Craft Club goodies at the start of each following month, so here’s my first offering with the ‘Christmas heart’ stamp from December. I’m also going to try and make a Christmas card each week through the year, so it ticks that box too – apologies if it feels too soon to be back on these! I didn’t actually manage a card every week in 2024 (not least because I headed off on a 5 week trip to Canada & Alaska mid year…!) but I did have a decent pile ready by December, so let’s see how it goes this time round.

I’ve used a couple of challenges for inspiration on this one, starting with the colours from Color Hues. Additionally, 52 Christmas Card Throwdown are looking for a previous stash/technique challenge from 2024 to be used, so I went with ‘colour an image’ from May 2024.

So, first step was to cut a small square of kraft card and stamp the main heart from the set onto it with black Archival ink. I used a red Pergaliner pencil to shade in several of the elements, followed by a fine white Posca pen. Halfway round fillling in the border I had a flash of inspiration that I should have used a white gel pen instead, which has a finer tip – isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing! My holly leaves were a bit blotchy with the Posca pen, as it obscured some of the stamped outline, so I went over them with a fine black micron pen.

I added a narrow white mount followed by a red layer and attached the topper to a 6×6 kraft card blank. A couple of word stickers from the ‘Christmas & Celebrations‘ set finished it off perfectly.

So that’s one in the bag for Christmas 2025 – let’s see how I get on over the rest of the year!

      1. We are going to be fine here, just as cool as what we left in California. Apparently I brought the cooler weather with us. I think it will be time to stay indoors and craft. Lord knows I have a lot to catch up on.
