Hello there! I’m still working my way through products from Clarity’s Craft Club, inspired by the current sale of back issues. I’ve got another stencil from the club today – the ‘simple rose’ #109. I always used to struggle with frameless stencils, but they are just brilliant to use on gel plates, so that’s what I did. I love getting a two-for-one as well, and this pair will be shared with AAA Birthday as I’ve layered them both up with mounts.

I put my gel plate onto a Clarity mega mount for stability and laid the rose stencil on top of it. I then brayered ‘festive berries’ & ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxides across the whole plate and stencil.

I carefully lifted the stencil off the gel plate, laid it ink side down on a piece of stencil card and ran it through my embossing machine to transfer the ink – it gives a lovely debossed impression with the stencil too. I then flipped the gel plate and stamped the image onto another piece of stencil card.

I cut the embossed image down using a square nested die, so that the image ran over all the edges, then added a mount that I’d cut with the ‘hearts‘ nested doodle frame-it panel die and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I cut the gel press image using a nested circle die and added a mount with the ‘scallop‘ nested circle doodle frame-it panel die. I covered the the front of a 6×6 card blank with the pink card and attached the topper in the centre.

I finished both cards with word stickers, again mounting them on the pink card.

If you look closely you’ll realise that both these cards are basically the same design, apart from one being cut to a circle and the other left as a square.

Seeing your creations here helps me to use some stencils I have and don’t use. Like you I wasn’t sure how to use them to their best advantage. Now I know how, I will try for myself. Love these two here. Very pretty and nice soft colours.
