another floral frame

Hello friends – here I am back with another Christmas card! It doesn’t seem to matter how many I make each year, I always have to pull a few last minute ones togther – and this year is no exception! I’ve gone back to ClarityCrafts‘ ‘floral frame – Merry Christmas’ stamp set, which was still on my desk from a few days ago (along with quite a bit of my crafting stash but let’s not go there…!) What I love about designs like this is how you can get quite a different look just by changing the colour palette – this time I’ve taken the tones from Creative Colour Challenges, incorporating the centre column of frame, embossing & winter foliage from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started by stamping the frame onto a small square of stencil card using Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with WOW’s pale gold powder (the nearest I’ve got to the ‘wild wheat’). I coloured the foliage and bow with Pergaliner pencils, going over the bow with a Pergacolour pen to deepen the tones.

It was then a simple matter to add a mount of Indian Summer companion paper, attach it to a 5×5 card blank and finish with the sentiment in ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide.

These colours are almost autumnal, but I think they work for Christmas too!
