12 days of Christmas

Hello crafty friends! Apologies for my absence yesterday – My very busy week culminated in a very busy Saturday and something had to give… (and it wasn’t going to be dinner with my friends!) Anyway, here I am back in action with another Christmas card, this time using the ‘bijou 12 Days of Christmas‘ stamps from ClarityCrafts. I was inspired by the overall theme at Festive Friday (I took pink, shimmery jewels, gifts & birds from their inspo list), together with the colours from Color Throwdown and the Christmas theme from Cardz4Galz.

I started by stamping the 2 & 5 from the ’12 Days of Christmas’ set onto a small square of stencil card, using ‘library green’ Archival ink. I added ‘December’ below them (from ‘Barbara’s months & numbers‘ stamp set), followed by the little phrases to go with each number. I then coloured the turtle dove with pink Pergaliners and used gold & pink metallic gel pens for the rings (they ahve a lovely sheen, although it’s difficult to pick up in the photo)

I then used a square embedder and a ball tool to emboss a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank, added a green mount to the topper and attached it to the card front.

I have to confess that I still haven’t got all my Christmas cards posted – I need to get my act into gear this week!
