a Christmas robin

Hello friends & welcome to Saturday! I’ve been in full Christmas mode this week, making additional cards to sell having sold virtually all of the ones I’d previously made to support funds for my church (it’s a nice problem to have!) I stayed in my happy CAS place for this one (it’s great for batch making) using one of ClarityCrafts‘ ‘Christmas wreath’ stamps plus the sweet little robin from the ‘holly framer’ set.

I took sketch #326 from the Sketch Saturday archive as the basis, including the ‘CAS winter’ theme from Make My Monday and ‘anything goes’ from Simply Clean & Simple.

Taking one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, I stamped the holly wreath and sentiment in ‘library green’ Archival and then added the robin with ‘potting soil’ – he sat perfectly on the sentiment.

I coloured the wreath and robin with Pergliner pencils, using a red Pergacolour pen to dot in the holly berries. I ran a green Sharpie around the edges of the topper and then simply attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

Holly and robins really do sum up winter for me!

  2. Beautiful card and a cute red breast. If I miss anything from Britain, it would be a Robin. We have a bigger bird with a red breast called a Robin but it isn’t.

  3. Beautiful CAS card, the robin is our state bird in Michigan, seeing a robin at the first sign of Spring gives us all hope that winter is over!! Thanks so much for joining our challenge at Simply Clean & Simple!!
