CAS Colours & Sketches 550 – seasonal challenge

Hello there and welcome to our final CAS Colours & Sketches challenge of the year! For this one, Patricia has challenged us to take any of the previous ones from this year and make a seasonal card with it. I’ve gone with the recent colours of #548 to make a Christmas card with ClarityCrafts‘ new ‘Nutcracker’ stamps and ‘Christmas quotes’.

Once again, I started with one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card, then stamped the bough & bauble onto it in ‘library green ‘Archival ink, adding the little Christmas tree on either side. I coloured the images with Pergaliner pencils, then stamped the Christmas quote and heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine gold powder.

I added a mount of Amazonia companion paper, then used a square embedder to create a frame on the front of a 5×5 card blank and added the topper in the centre.

These accent stamps from the Nutcracker set are going to get plenty of use I think! Our challenge over at CC&S runs for four weeks until 30 December, so lots of oportunity for New Year cards as well as Christmas! I’m going to share this wth a couple of other challenges – Colorful Options are looking for red, green & gold cards, whilst Sparkles Christmas want cards based on a carol (I hope ‘have yourself a merry little Christmas’ counts!)
