Void & Nova

Hello friends. I’ve got a very straightforward card to share with you today, that I made for my son’s partner’s birthday. She’s a real cat lover and they have two – Void who is jet black and Nova who is white. Clarity Crafts‘s ‘cats on a comfy chair‘ aperture die was perfect as they are a pair of indoor cats (although that may change when they hopefully move house in the new year). It’s basically the die cut mounted on designer paper, so I’m going to share it as a final fofering for this month’s challenge at Love Those Pretty Papers

I didn’t take photos as I went along, but then there’s not too much to show! I cut the die into black card that I’d backed with Stick It thin adhesive sheet, using a square nested die around the edge. I had a piece of the old Indian Summer designer paper that was the right size (happy days!), cut it out with one of the ‘hearts’ nested square doodle frame-it panel dies, attached the cats die cut on top and glued it to a black 6×6 card blank. I wanted to make it look like their cats, so recut the top one into a scrap of white card, trimmed it out of the diecut and glued it into place.

And that’s all there was to it! I love these dies (there’s a series of four) – they’re just perfect for a quick card on a piece of Clarity’s beautiful designer paper.

  1. How clever! They are going to LOVE this card (but I do see a 3rd kitty peaking around the corner … hmmm, does that mean they might be getting a third cat? lol) Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Love Those Pretty Papers challenge!  Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.
