Hello crafty friends. Here we are with our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches – as it’s the second one of the month we’ve got a new sketch for you. The latest stamp from Clarity‘s Craft Club dropped through my letter box the other day, so this was a good excuse to play with it! There are a few Christmas themed challenges around at the moment (I wonder why…) and I’m going to share this with The Paper Players and Simply Clean & Simple

I cut a piece of stencil card to fit on a 6×6 card blank, masked off a panel with low tack tape and brushed ‘pine needles’ Distress Ink across it. After removing the tape, I stamped the holly spray on either side of the inked strip, then coloured the leaves with a green Pergaliner pencil and dotted the berries with a red Pergacolour pen.

I embossed a frame on the front of the 6×6 card blank using a square embedder and a ball tool, then popped a narrow mount of dark green card onto the topper and sat it within the embedded frame. I finished by adding the sentiment from the set, masking each word in turn when inking so I could sit them on top of each other, instead of in a straight line.

How has our sketch inspired you? Come on over to CAS Colours & Sketches and share your creations with us.

Love this Deborah – it reminds me of my card last time around, only a stamped version! I love the blended strip – great for a clean and simple look.

Oh Deb this is gorgeous! (just might have to case it for some additional cards I need for this holiday season if you don’t mind!) You certainly brought that sketch to life! Awesome inspiration! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Simply Clean & Simple challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.

Lovely card, Deborah! I love that layout – it’s a favourite of mine. The shaded bar makes a great ground for those Christmas boughs. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.

This is a lovely CAS card Deborah, but you’ve added so many lovely details to catch the eye. The bought for the over and under works beautifully and I love the embossing on the card then adding your framed panel within. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players this week!

Clean and simple perfection, Deborah! I absolutely love this image, and how you stamped it across the colored strip. The “frame” you created sets everything off beautifully. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players this week!
