roses of love

Hello friends! It’s Monday already and we’ve got grey skies here, but there’s no need to be down about it as Barbara Gray will be live on Clarity Social TV (on YouTube here) at 2pm today taking us through this fab new A4 sampler set of floral stamps drawn by Jayne Nestorenko. My card today uses the three rose images, picking up the sketch from AAA Cards and the beautiful palette from Color Hues

I started with a square of stencil card that I’d cut to fit on a 6×6 card blank, used low tack tape to mask off a panel and brushed ‘salvaged patina’ & ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxides across it. I used the masking tape across the lower edge as a guide for getting my images level – I measured whether the outer edge of the stamps on each side would go and put a pencil mark on the tape, then marked the position of the central image. I could then stamp each one, starting with the outer ones and lining up the edge of my polymer stamp with the masking tape.

I shaded the images with Pergaliner pencils, ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and then simply attached it to the 6×6 card blank.

So you know where I’ll be this afternoon! The great thing about having Clarity’s shows on YouTube now is that I can catch up whenever suits me, and go back and re-watch for extra inspiration.

  2. Love the way you incorporated the Color Hues colours into your design Deborah. At first I thought the aqua panel was paper but you masked it, thanks for sharing. 🙂
