Tina’s hellebores

Hello friends! Here we are halfway through another week already, so I thought I’d brighten your day with another new stamp set from ClarityCrafts. These gorgeous ‘Season’s Greetings Flowers‘ were designed by my Clarity Design Team-mate Tina Morris and were launched at last weekend’s Open Days – in fact Tina was the first person to demonstrate them in her ‘make and take’ sessions. I thought they were perfect for the sketch at TGIF challenges and the colours from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – after all, hellebores are also known as Christmas roses!

So, starting with a 4.25inch (10.8) square of stencil card, I stamped the largest of the flowers with black Archival ink, then coloured it with ‘kitsch flamingo’, ‘picked raspberry’ & ‘mowed lawn’ using a waterbrush. I dried the flower with my heat gun, then covered it with the pre-cut mask that comes with the stamps and added twiggy branches either side in the ‘mowed lawn’, colouirng the berries with a pink Pergacolour pen. The sentiment sat neatly above the flowers – I love this font.

I added a mount of Toscana companion paper and attached the topper to a 6×6 card blank that I’d already embossed a frame onto using a square embedder (obviously!). The final touch was to outline the centre of the flower with a gold metallic gel pen.

Now, I know that hellebores are usually cream or purple, but you’ve got to admit it does look pretty in pink!
