highlands masks

Hello there! It’s a busy day today in my little world, ending with a journey down to Kent this evening to be there ready for the ClarityCrafts Open Days and Christmas workshop this weekend. I’m blessed to be demonstating with the new stamps & masks that I’ve been sharing with your over the last few days – I get to sit and craft with them for two whole days, so what’s not to like?! I took a slightly different approach to today’s card, just using the ‘highlands’ masks and inspired by the colours at SundayStamps with a sentiment as the focus.

So, I started by lining up all the masks on a piece of Clarity’s stencil card, then blended inks across the ground, working from the bottom up one at a time with ‘villainous potion’ & ‘shaded lilac’ Distress Oxides – I blended them over each other for the middle colour. I put the top ground mask back in place, removed the moon and brushed ‘saltwater taffy’ into it. Last was to lift the mask from the sky and add the ‘villainous potion’, blending it gently around the edge of the moon.

That was the majority of the work done! I stamped one of the ‘one day at a time‘ quote stamps into the centre, added a mount cut from Toscana companion paper with one of the ‘film strip‘ nested square doodle frame-it panel dies and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

It’s a bit different isn’t it? I love how playing around with colours can give such a variety of results!
