Hello there and welcome to our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. It’s the first Tuesday of the month so time for new colours and a lovely palette thanks to Patricia. I’m still busy playing with the new landscape masks & stamps from ClarityCrafts, once again using the ‘South Downs treescape’ set that I shared on Saturday, but with a very different look this time and added inspiration from the theme at The Paper Players.

I started by masking off the lower part of a small square of stencil card with the ‘south downs’ masks and brushed ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxide across them for my landscape. I added one of the trees in ‘evergreen bough’, then repeat stamped the little blossom image in ‘red geranium’ Archival ink to fill the tree’s branches.

I cut a mount of companion paper using one of the ‘lattice’ nested square doodle frame-it panel dies and attached it to a 5×5 card blank, finishing with an appropriate ‘occasions sentiments’ pair of phrases.

I know this blossom is unseasonal right now, but it works so well with the colours! Come on over to CAS Colours & Sketches and show us how you’ve put them to use.

Deborah… You are right we won’t see the cherry blossoms for awhile but your card gives me hope! Love its simple elegance. Thanks so much for sharing with The Paper Players this week.

I love the look of that lattice frame. It leads so nicely into the softly stencilled hills. Love the cherry tree too. It’s been a bit like pink snow here last month when the wind hit all the lovely blossoms planted along the roads. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.
