P for Party at Alphabet Challenge

Hello friends and welcome to a busy day on this little blog – there are more cards to come over the day! We’re starting the morning with one of ClarityCrafts‘ gorgeous mini Christmas Poppets stamps – meet Pumpkin and her little bunny pal! I couldn’t resist this little pair for our new ‘P for Party’ theme over at Alphabet Challenge, busily packing their presents into the sack ready for a Christmas celebration and it picked up the pink sparkly snowflakes feel of the image on Hand Stamped Sentiments‘ moodboard.

I completely forgot to take photos as I was making this one, so I’ll just have to talk you through the process (it’s pretty straightforward!) I took one of Clarity’s small squares of stencil card and stamped Pumpkin in the centre using black Archival ink, then shaded the whole image using Pergaliner pencils and added one of the ‘occasions sentiments’. Helpfully, there are colour images for each stamp included in the packaging, so it’s easy to follow those if you’re short on inspiration. Having done that, I used one of the small circle embedders to emboss around the image, plus a second larger square one to emboss the front of a 6×6 card blank. I then added a mount of companion paper and attached the topper to the card.

There was one final touch I felt Pumpkin needed – glitter! It was difficult to photograph the sparkle, but I’d simply gone along the lines in her outfit and the dots and snowflakes with a Quickie glue pen, sprinkled Perga Glitter across it and left it to dry.

So do come on over to Alphabet Challenge and join our party – we’d love to see your creations in the gallery.
