Hello friends. Here I am with another take on the Christmas Windows stamp set from ClarityCrafts – this is the one I demo’d on the first YouTube show last Friday. It really picks up the lovely tones from this week’s Creative Colour challenge, and I probably don’t need to explain why I’m sharing it with Peace on Earth as well!

I started with an offcut of Antarctica paper that had the right colours on it and was light in the centre, stamped the ‘shepherds window’ with black Versafine Clair ink and heat embossed it with clear powder. This makes the stamped image stand out, but I really wanted to highlight the view through the window. I cut a mask to fit the window from Clarity’s mask material, covered the image and brushed black Archival ink outwards from the mask – this darkened the outer area to make the window scene stand out.

I used a Faber-Castell ink eraser pencil to lift the colour from the shepherds, then went back over them with brown Pergaliner pencils. I added a mount of black card and sat the topper within an embossed frame that I’d created on the front of a 5×5 card blank with a square embedder. The final touch was to fill in the star with a gold metallic gel pen.

I’m so happy with how this turned out – and it’s a great way to use up those smaller offcuts of designer paper!

The papers you use are really lovely and this one is perfect for the windown. Very pretty card.
