Trinity

Hello friends – here we are at Monday again! I’m still working through my samples from last Friday’s shows, so here’s another I didn’t get to show you live using the ‘Christmas windows’ stamp set. I like finding other uses for images, and this set doesn’t just have to be for Christmas – depending which image you choose, it could be new baby or baptism, confirmation for first communion amongst others. I used three of the stamp on this card to represent the Holy Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) for a card of blessing which I’ll share with Addicted to Stamps‘ ‘any occasion’ challenge.

I cut a piece of card to fit on a slimline card (UK DL size) and ran a piece of low tack tape along the lower edge to give me a guide for stamping my three images (both getting them level and equally spaced). I measured where the centre of each one would come and put a pencil mark on the tape – as the card is 20cm wide, it worked out at 4cm, 10cm & 16cm. I stamped the two outer images first and then positioned the middle one in the centre

I then set about colouring them with Pergaliner B (oil based) pencils, using two shades of blue with yellow and orange. I thought it would look good to pick out the different sections of the window designs. The colouring looked a little grainy, so I popped a little Dorso oil on a sponge, picked it up with the Pergamano blending nib and went over the colouring to smooth it out.

Having coloured all three images, I added one of the ‘essential sentiments’ with black Archival ink, ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to the card blank.

I love this effect – it makes the windows look really modern.
