poppet snowglobe

Hello again. I’m back to showcase some more bargains in this weekend’s Celebration of Crafting sale over at ClarityCrafts! You’ll have noticed over the last few weeks that I do love the Poppets stamps, so now meet Pearl, one of the mini Christmas Poppets, who’s happily sitting in a snowglobe. I thought the tones from Color Throwdown would work well, and this wintery card fits nicely with the ‘seasonal’ theme from Inkspirational.

So, starting with a square of card to fit on a 6×6 card blank, I stamped the snow globe outline and added Pearl into the centre. I masked off the outer area, just leaving the globe free, with the pre-cut masks that come with the snow globe and cut her own mask for Pearl. I could then brush a little ‘tumbled glass’ and ‘bundled sage’ Distress Inks into the background, before adding the trees and house from the ‘let it snow miniatures’ set that comes with the globe stamp.

After lifting all the masks, I set about colouring the image with my favourite Pergaliner pencils using the tones from Color Throwdown, then used grey Polychromo pencils to fill in the base of the snowglobe. I also used them to add a drop shadow around the main image, so it didn’t look so flat.

I added a mount of Shenandoah companion paper, with a narrow one of black, and attached the topper to a 6×6 card blank. To finish, I used a Quickie glue pen on the dots around Pearl and then dotted it all over the rest of the snowglobe before sprinkling Perga glitter across it, to make it look like the sparkle in a real snow globe!

  1. OMG. Just when I thought these poppets couldn’t be any cuter, you post another one! Cutest one yet, lol! I need to get my hands on these… did you tell me Clarity has a US store? And I’m headed off to vote for Clarity! ❤
