Noel colour-me-round

Hello friends. I’m here with another of the cards I didn’t get to share on yesterday’s shows, using the KISS (Keep It Sinple Stamping) ‘colour me rounds’ stamps from ClarityCrafts, which picks up the gorgeous tones from the inspiration picture at Color Dare. I based the layout on a card by Linda Spencer, another of my Clarity design teamies, but switched the lettering from stamped to the A5 Alphabet dies.

So, my starting point was with the backdrop stamp – I sponged ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide onto it and placed it slightly off centre on a square of card, so that I’d be able to position the letters either side. I added the Christmas topper with black Archival ink, then shaded the details images with Pergaliner pencils, using white and gold gel pens to highlight berries and the centres of the poinsettias.

I added a mount of gold card using one of the ‘film strip’ nested doodle frame-it panel dies, which then sat perfectly within an embossed embedder frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank. I’d previously die cut the letters from the centre of the gold panel (waste not, want not!) si finished by gluing them into place either side of the circle image.

This would work in so many different colour ways – and the other toppers in the set give lots of options for other occasions. And the best news is, it’s in Clarity’s ‘Crafting Celebration’ weekend sale at 50% off – what’s not to like?!

  1. Thanks for blogging, I bought these first time around and then drew a blank about using them ! I’m more a Groovi than a stamper but trying to do more! Love what you’re doing with them. X
