just a red car

Hello friends! is it me, or is Sunday just coming round more quickly these days…? Anyway, today’s card is a complete contrast from all the recent Poppets, with a masculine card using the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and the ‘wheels’ theme from Cardz4Guyz. I do love a pop of red against black and white, so went with that and ClarityCrafts‘ ‘just wheels & wings’ stamps.

I started with a piece of card cut to fit a 5×7 card blank and trimmed a piece of striped BOW-WOB (black-on-white, white-on-black) collage paper to sit across the bottom of it, adding a mount of black card. I stamped the larger car from the set on a scrap bit of card, coloured it with Pergaliner pencils and fussy cut it. I then went over the colouring with Dorso oil and a blending nib to smooth it out.

I ran a black Sharpie along the top edge of the BOW-WOB paper, then added the card, which I’d mounted on an oval black diecut. (I did try it on a tag die, but it just didn’t look right). The finishing touch was a black Pinky Gray greetings sticker.

I love the graphic style of this paper – so much more fun than straight lines!
