Hello crafty friends – hope you’ve had a good weekend and a gentle start to your week this Monday! It was a busy weekend at Clarity Towers – the team pulled together and got this weekend’s live launch show for the new Sprites and Pixies Poppets online whilst Create & Craft TV are not broadcasting live. The Clarity team are just fantastic and there were over 700 watching at one point! If you missed it and want to check out the inspiration, the video recording is here.
So today I want to introduce you to Maeve, one of the Sprites who’s got plenty of attitude! I used one of the pre-printed postcards, but she’s also available in two stamp sizes. The first step was to cut the 5×7 postcard down to a square, and I then coloured both Maeve and her little froggy sidekick with Pergaliner pencils, blending greens & oranges.

I didn’t want to leave her floating in mid-air, but needed to work out how to mask off her feet to be able to stamp the grass from the ‘just woodland & birds’ set. I decided to pop some masking tape over her feet and Mr Froggy, drew round the outline with a pencil, trimmed the tape down to fit and popped it back in place. It was then easy to stamp the grass using ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide.

She needed a bit of a background, so I roughly coloured around her with a blue Pergaliner A (aqua) pencil, then spread the pigment outwards using a waterbrush.

I framed her with one of the nested circle doodle aperture frame-it dies, added a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper and popped her onto a 6×6 card blank. The final touch was Wink of STella onto her wings to make them shimmer.

So cute, don’t you think? I’ve still got more of the Poppets for you to meet, but for now I’m going to share Maeve with Color Dare (I’ve picked up the middle row of tones from their grid), Cardz 4 Galz whose theme is ‘circles’, and Make My Monday with their new challenge of ‘kid friendly cards’.
