Hello there! I’ve got an early peek at some new friends arriving tomorrow from ClarityCrafts – more of their poppets characters, this time sprites and pixies. So let me introduce Mandy, one of the sprites! Barbara will be showcasing Mandy and her friends tomorrow from 3pm to 5pm, but this time it will be online as Create & Craft TV are not broadcasting live for the next few days. You can watch the show via the Clarity website, on their Facebook page or on their YouTube site.
So, let me talk you through the process for this card. I started by stamping Mandy with black Archival ink onto a 5×5 card blank. I used a paper trimmer to cut the card front down to the top & bottom of the image and then fussy cut around the outer edge. I used my Pergaliner pencils to shade Mandy and her toadstool, using a selection of autumnal colours. I kept the colour light where her wings were sitting over the toadstool, to make them look like gossamer.
I wanted to add a little interest to the edge of the card, so brushed ‘carved pumpkin’ and ‘barn door’ Distress Oxides through the ‘brick wall’ stencil onto the inside of the card, keeping it towards the outer edge.
A quick addition of one of the ‘bijou retro sentiment’ stamps and some Wink of Stella on her wings for added shimmer and she was done! And the other good news is that this little sprite will be a free gift tomorrow if you invest in the full new collection of 12 stamps – what’s not to like?!
So, having used autumnal colours on my card, I’m going to share it with a few appropriate challenges – AAA Cards, Four Seasons and Coloful Options. But more importantly, don’t forget to tune in to Barbara’s show tomorrow – 3-5pm!
