peony florals

Hello friends! Goodness me, the third Saturday of the month does come around quickly – I’m back on Create & Craft TV tomorrow with another collection of new stamps from ClarityCrafts. These gorgeous flowers were drawn by the super-talented Linda Williams – I’ll share more over the next few days but here’s a first taster using the ‘peony’ set. I’m going to pop this one in the galleries at Cardz 4 Gals (their current challenge is to ‘use any colouring medium’) and Atlantic Hearts for their layout.

I decided to go with a delicate pink and grey theme on this one. I first stamped the peonies in ‘shadown grey’ Archival ink and added shading with the pink Pergaliner A aqua pencil. I used my waterbrush to distribute the pigment across the petals, then shaded the leaves and stems with grey Polychromo pencils.

I used one of the ‘foliage’ circle doodle frame-it panel dies on the topper, cutting across the flowers, then added mounts of pink (Waimea Falls) and grey (Rainbow River) companion papers. I used a square embedder on the front of a 6×6 card blank and attached the mounted background onto it.

I glued some scrap white card on the back of the die cut circle and attached it back into the gap on the background, taking care to line up the flowers. I stamped the sentiment onto another scrap of card using ‘watering can’ Archival, trimmed one end into a banner and glued that across the die cut (lining it up with the edge of the white card). I finiahsed by stamping a few of the single dots from the ‘just flowers’ set in ‘kitsch flamingo’ Distress Oxide.

I do this this is such a pretty layout – I was inspired by a similar one I saw on social media. Hope you can join me on TV tomorrow at 1pm & 4pm (UK time) – I’ve got lots more beautiful florals to show you!

  1. Very neat technique, I love how you used the spotlight on nature die to bring the pink out, super cool! Thanks for playing along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC).
