Hello everyone. I’m back with the new sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches, courtesy of Nancy. I haven’t used ClarityCrafts ‘floral crescent’ stamps for a while – I thought they’d work well for Nancy’s sketch and they’re far too pretty to be left languishing in a box. I took the gorgeous colours from Just Add Ink and the ‘stripes’ theme from Seize the Birthday to complete my card.

Now I forgot to take my usual ‘work in progress’ photos, but I think this is simple enough to explain! I stamped the floral crescent onto a piece of scrap card and coloured with with Distress Oxides and a waterbrush. I don’t have Just Add Ink’s exact colours, so went with ‘spun sugar’, ‘kitsch flamingo’, ‘picked raspberry’ and ‘lucky clover’, then fussy cut the image.
I took an offcut of the BOW-WOB paper and glued it to a square of card, then ran a black Sharpie around the edges and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. I’d cut the side of the floral crescent down to sit flush with the mount, so glue that into place (which gave me a little wiggle room to get it exactly lined up). The finishing touch was a black word sticker.

There’s lots of possibilities with this sketch – come on over to CAS C&S and play along with us.

That floral crescent is so delicate and pretty Deborah – the black and white stripes add a good contrast and give the whole card a modern, edgy appeal – love it!
