Hello friends. I haven’t shared a Christmas card for a while, so here’s one of the demos I didn’t get to do on my last TV shows, using the Christmas tree & baubles set from ‘Tina’s Christmas Elements’ by ClarityCrafts. I’ve done an additional version today using the palette from Creative Colour – I do love non-traditional shades and the darker blue works just as well as the turquoise in my original. I’ve also picked up the ‘make your mark’ theme from Inkspirational and The Holly and Ivy is always ‘anything goes’.

The first step was to use an embedder on 5×5 card blank to make a frame on the front. I stamped the image in black Archival, slightly above centre to leave space for the sentiment. I added colour with Pergaliner A watercolour pencils, shading the pencil around the edge of each shape, then spreading the pigment with a waterbrush.

The final touch on this first one was to add the sentiment in black Archival. I approached the second one in the same way, but used ‘shadow grey’ Archival to stamp the image & sentiment, picking it up from Creative C9olour’s palette. I stepped it up a little from the first card by using a navy Pergacolour pen to pick out the little holly berries and a pink metallic grey pen for the rings of circles.

This is a great design for batch making cards. The only question is – which tones do you prefer?
