fancy a chat?

Hello crafty friends and welcome to Monday! It’s still quite warm here in London, but I think autumn is definitely heading our way soon… I’m back with another offering using the new ‘panoramic’ three-way overlay stamps and an inky mop-up background from my stash. Just Us Girls have challenged us to CASE (copy and selectvely edit) any one of the cards from their design team and I thought this picked up the vibe from Ina’s card. I moved the image to the centre of the card to reflect the new sketch at Atlantic Hearts and am also going to share it as a second offering with Time Out and for Colorful Options bold & vibrant theme.

So, here’s what I did! I started with the background from my stash and stamped the outline of the second image into the centre. I then sponged ‘mowed lawn’ and ‘wilted violet’ Distress Oxides onto the infill stamp (I think they’re the ones on the background!), lined it up and stamped it into place.

I wanted to keep the impact of the background, but felt it needed a little more adding, so popped on a little cat & bird from the ‘garden miniatures’ set, together with a Pinky Gray greeting sticker. I used a large square embedder to emboss a frame onto the front of a 7×7 card blank, ran a black Sharpie around the edge of the topper and glued it into place.

Now this made me smile at the thought of the cat trying to tempt the bird down from the tree – mind you, that doesn’t happen in my garden as poor Benji just gets taunted by the local magpies! Did you spot the slight twist as well? ‘Chat’ is French for cat! I amaze myself sometimes… LOL!
