Hi everyone! I’ve just had a fabulous couple of days at the annual ClarityCrafts summer retreat, picking up lots of tips and inspiration. I therefore thought it was only right to have got another of the background pieces from last year’s retreat used up at the weekend before I set off – I’ll have another folder of creations by the time I leave here later today! I decided to work with the sketch from TGIF Challenges and Inspire.Create‘s masculine theme.

So, we made this background last year by brayering acrylic paint onto a craft mat, then lightly ‘walking’ the brayer across a piece of card – you get some great effects! I found a suitable piece, chopped it down to fit on a 6×6 card blank, then cut it into three panels and attached them to a square of black card – the whole piece then went onto the card front. I stamped the vintage car from the ‘just wheels & wings’ set onto a scrap piece of card, using black Archival ink, then coloured it with Pergaliner pencils and fussy cut it. I stamped the top of the car onto a scrap bit of the background paper, then fussy cut the windscreen and paper pieced it onto the car. Why? Well, that makes it look like you can see the background through the windscreen, instead of leaving it plain white!

To finish the card, I stamped the group of trees from ‘just woodland & birds’ with ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, then mounted the card on a little scrap card and attached it to the card front. The final touch was a word sticker and it was done.

So I’ve now got another folder of creative projects to use up over the coming year (hopefully…!)
