J for Juvenile at Alphabet Challenge

Hello friends. Well, here we are at Friday again and we’ve got a new theme at Alphabet Challenge – it’s J this time and Caz has chosen Juvenile (children or babies). I thought it was about time I broke out one of ClarityCrafts ‘poppets’ images – I’ve had the printed sheets (they come in a mixed pack of pre-coloured and outlines) for some time now and not used them, which is criminal really when they’re such fantastic designs! I opted for one of the outline images to add my own shading using the tones from Colorful Options; the yellow & green fits with the ‘two colours’ theme at CAS on Friday as well. I’m also going to share this with Just Us Girls for their ‘frame’ theme.

I cut off one the fairy & frog images from a sheet of the ‘playful sprites’ (there are 6 images on each A4 sheet) and shaded them using several green and yellow Pergaliner pencils, then used one of the ‘lattice’ nested doodle frame-it panel dies to cut a border into the edge. I gave them some ground to stand on by lightly sponging a little ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxide across a torn piece of copy paper.

I used a square embedder to create a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank, then simply mounted the topper on a layer of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to the card front, finishing with the sentiment from the ‘just butterflies & bees’ set.

As a final touch, I brushed Wink of Stella over the fairy’s wings, to make them shimmer.

Aren’t they just the sweetest little pair? I’d love to know what she’s saying to her frog!

  1. Goodness, but she’s a pretty little fairy poppet, isn’t she! And the wee frog and flower are adorable! The frame you’ve placed her in: lovely! Thank you so much for joining us at JUGS.
