plaid thank you

Well here we are at the start of a new week and I’m showcasing another of the new 8×8 stencils from ClarityCrafts, this time the ‘thick and thin plaid’. Perfect for a bit of simple ink blending to pick up the colouring mediums theme at Make My Monday

I started with another of the 5×7 quote postcards and masked around the edges with low tack tape to half it’s width. I then laid the 8×8 checked stencil over it and blended ‘twisted citron’, ‘peacock feathers’ and ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxides across it with stencil brushes.

Turning to a 7×7 card blank, I brushed a little of each ink through the stencil into the bottom corner and stamped one of the ‘bijou ribbon sentiments’ over it to complement the main quote. I then mounted the postcard onto a layer of Shenandoah companion paper and added it to the card front.

There’s so much potential to create fantastic backgrounds with these stencils – I’ve got more to share with you over the next few days!
