Hello friends. I hope your weekend is going well – I’ll be tucked in front of the TV this afternoon for a couple of inspiring hours watching Barbara demonstrating these fabulous leafmasks (as well as the new stripes & plaid stencils). I couldn’t resist the maple leaf mask for a card evoking memories of my recent fantastic trip with friends to Canada.

I first took one of the quote postcards and laid the maple leaf mask across the words. I brushed ‘festive berries’ Distress Oxide in from the edges, leaving the centre light.

After removing the mask, I stamped the trees from the woodland miniatures’ set across it with ‘shadow grey’ Archival ink, then added the stag and eagle in black Versafine Clair.

I cut the postcard down to 4×5 inches , then added strips of Waimea Falls companion paper to each side of a 5×5 card blank and attached the postcard on top.

So there’s my Canadian flag design as a tribute to this lovely country that’s left us with fantastic memories of their beautiful scenery and wildlife. I’m hoping to make it back there again one day.
