Hello everyone! Welcome to August, so what better to start the month with than a Christmas card!! In my defence, Barbara is hosting a Clarity craftalong this evening over on the Clarity Worldwide Facebook page, so ‘Jayne’s winter scenes Christmas sampler’ A4 set was already sitting on my desk in anticipation and I thought I’d have a quick play first! I decided that three of the colours from Color Dare‘s challenge would work nicely for a Christmas card, which I’m also going to share at The Holly and Ivy.

First step was to stamp two of the little scenic squares onto a piece of stencil card using black Archival ink. I decided to watercolour them for a change, using the direct to card method with Pergaliner A pencils – you shade the pencil straight onto the card where you want darker colour, then use a waterbrush to spread the pigment out.

Next, I cut a mount from Indian Summer companion paper using one of the nested square ‘lattice’ doodle frame-it panel dies, popped the topper onto it and attached them to a 5×5 card blank. The final touch was one of the Pinky Gray greetings stickers, again mounted on a pirce of the Indian summer paper.

I really like the effect of the pink & orange tones on the church and lych-gate!
